I was just listening to the songs on CD Baby, and that is some GREAT stuff, man! I like the slide guitar in a lot of those songs. Is that Chas Williams or Danny Parks?
Really enjoyed it, Jim. Good luck with the project. That gal sings her butt off, man! KILLER!!

Just finished listening to "All Roads Lead To You" and I thought it was a very well-written number, arranged and performed in a way that did the whole thing justice.
Reminds me of Country before they started trying to "mainstream" every single artist out of Nashville.

Jim,
I found your site and listened. It's as good as anything on country radio. I hope your new stuff finds it's way there.
Would like to meet you next time I am in Nashville.

Kymberly has a real nice voice. It's very well suited to your songs.
You got some nice tunes. My favorite is All Roads Lead To You. It's more my style, new country.
Thank for sharing!

It's all good and the girl sounds fantastic. Your melodies are standards for the most part which is fine. They sound great. I cannot get over that odd kinda air flow sound that moves over Kymberly's vocal chords when she transitions in the lower end of her range. Just love the way that it sounds. I hear it in "All Roads Lead To You" the most.
I do want to buy the cd. Tell me whenever you put it for download and I'll put it all in my ipod.
Loved the hook in "I Looked Twice"
"It wasn't love at first sight, but thank God, I looked twice."
Congratulations, I'm sure it was joy to do something that sounds that good.
I hang out in a hand full of bars jamming with guys on Wed and Thurs nights. Not fancy places mind you, but I'll make an LP from her tunes and see if I can get the bar owners to play em. I bet they will when they hear "All Roads Lead To You."

Hey Jim:
It ain't Country but it's a Great Kick-A$$ Song in the Key of D and that's workin' for me. This song has a nice Hard-Drivin Sound like all your music.
You know, it's really nice to hear a song that Starts with the Hook on a Chorus Sound set-up by the 5 Chord. That sound ALWAYS works Great Live and there aren't enough of those songs out there in my opinion.
You have a Great Drum Track on this one and I LOVE your Chord Changes in the Bridge. Man, Going to the b3 Major Chord there is a Home Run to my ears and it really Drives Your Song Forward.
Thank you for sharing,
David

"Whoever Kymberly is...tell her that I love her voice. Even when she's in a high range her voice has deep undertones that really appeal to me. Kind of Kathleen Turner sorta sound. (that dates me but so what).
Her voice, particularly on "All Roads Lead To You," makes for my most favorite female "sound" I think I ever heard. I'm sure that's just a personal taste, but I can't be completely alone in feeling that way.
It is beautiful without trying hard."

All Roads Lead To You
Hey Jim:
This song has a Wonderful Feel to it. It made me pick-up my Guitar and play along a few times. I always LOVE to play along with songs that I've never heard before, especally when they Flow as well as this one does Musically.
We've all heard this Chord Progression THOUSANDS of times and I'm always Very Impressed when a Musician can write such a Beautiful New Melody using this set of Chord Changes.
Thank you for Sharing your Music,
David

That's a GREAT Opening Line. You sure Got My Attention.
It's a very nice Vocal Showcase for your Singer. It's a Kickin' and Groovin' Arrangement with the right Energy.
A Classic Country Shuffle with a nice Rockabilly Feel !!!
Man, I've played those Guitar parts 10,000 + times with singers and I NEVER get tired of hearing or playing those licks. I wish you success with this one because I can hear all the Hard Work that you put into this one on a lot of different levels. Thank you for sharing your music with us,

David, Thanks for your comments about "I Feel So Country."

Hi, Jim!
Your lyrics work very well with Kymberly's strong, warm voice and the country genre of the song, which I listened to via the link in your contact information.
Three parts of your lyrics that I especially like are the lines that ground the song in a particular place and situation, because they give me more of the background behind the story created in the song:
Quote:
I've come across the desert in the burning sun
Quote:
Been working all week just to earn my pay
Living for Saturday
Quote:
I've been too long on that assembly line
These lines help me picture the hardworking, working-class woman for whom going out dancing with her beau on Saturday is the highlight of a long, tiring week, which makes the title "Hard Earned Love" very appropriate.

Hi Jim:
I just found your site by accident???... I really enjoyed your tunes.... I read your bio and it sounds like you have had quite a large life! That is a good thing, your tunes express your life and "Jesus Paid My Debt" is really great! We have a local Christian Radio Station here in Halifax, Nova Scotia and they do play new music and I would like to have a demo to give them. I have done promotions in the music industry in the past and have enjoyed it very much. I am always looking for new and upcoming talent to share with others and your lyrics tell the story of life as we live each day one foot in front of the other. Thanks for sharing and I wish you and your son all the best in the coming years. All the best, Helen in NS

I whole-heartedly agree with everything Mike said. I have 3 CD's on CD BABY, and it's been a great experience. The digital downloads are doing great, as well as the sales on the hard copies. They do a GREAT job getting your music to LOTS of digital download venues. Go for the DIGITAL BUNDLE.
As an example, if you Google: paul evans agua noir
you will see the number of different digital sites it's on.
I suggest using DiscMakers for your project. They hook you up with CD BABY, and several other companies, and help you take care of the ISRC information, ALLMUSIC Registration, SoundScan, and a load of other stuff. IMO, it's a great package and well worth the price.

Jim, I use CDBaby and I think it's great! I just wish they wouldn't keep $4.00 off every CD!
I've sold over 100 physical CDs, and 3-4 times that in digital downloads. They send the songs to iTunes, etc. About 28 different pay download sites. I get about $0.643 for every 99 cent download. itunes keeps some, and CDBaby gets 9%. I even get a few cents for listens at subscriber services like Rhapsody.
There is only the one-time fee of $35 to setup on CDBaby, if your CD doesn't have a barcode, it's another $20 before they can send it to digital distibution.
One good thing about CDBaby is that their search engine rankings return your CD page at, or close, to the top of a Google search results.
Just go to cdbaby.com and sign up, then ship them 10 CD to start.
Since you are an NSAI member, you have access to NSAI's on-line workshop videos. The latest archived webcast is on Strategies for marketing your music on-line from March 09. He speaks highly of CDBaby too, plus it will give you some other ideas.
