Memphis tomorrow
One more day to Memphis. It is a struggle. Right now I have a flat tire. Fortunately, I became a member of AAA a few days ago. I am on my way to call them now. I will have the tire fixed or else get a new one at Firestone on Broadway. Firestone fixes flats for free. You have to fight in this world if you are going to get anything done.
Two days til memphis/Tunica
Michael and I will drive to Memphis on Thursday, July 3. We will get a room outside of town. Graceland is open on July 4. I have not been to Graceland since 1982 with Michael's mother. I am sure it has changed. We will tour the mansion, then go to Sun Records and Beale Street.
From Memphis, we will drive to Tunica, Mississippi. We will take in the casinos and the RiverPark on the Mississippi. The RiverPark will provide us with a good dose of nature. We will get a room in Tunica Friday night and make our way back to Nashville Saturday night. This is our first trip since Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon last year. Got to get out of this city. Yes, I put freon in my air conditioner and we are ready to roll. My book is available!
Jim Colyer Songs: Save The Planet" is available from Publish America.
My book is available online from Borders Books, Books-A-Million, Barnes and Noble, Walden Books and Amazon.com......Jim Thought for the Day
I can't explain life and death either. That is the difference between us and God. There must be a God because nothing else could fill the emptiness in our lives. It is hard to have faith, and it is hard to be a good person, but we must never let go of the idea and reality that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world and will make things right in eternity.
Science deals with the outer trappings. Christianity deals with the inner trappings. Both are true. Each in its own way. Just hang on to Jesus, no matter what! Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this? John 11:25-26 Memphis & Tunica
Michael and I will head for Memphis on July 3. I need to make certain Graceland is open on July 4. Call 901-332-3322 or 800-238-2010. We will get a motel outside of town and head for Graceland the morning of July 4, a Friday. We will then visit Sun Records and Beale Street before heading for Tunica. I felt like we should take a short trip this year after taking airplane trips the last three years. Elvis Presley is the father of modern music. His legend is worth knowing something about.
I got my brakes fixed. All I need to do now is to get some freon into my air conditioner. Future trips

The is one cool song. Mendocino was in the Easy Rider movie of 1969. Doug Sahm was from Texas and pioneered Tex-Mex. He died in his sleep of a heart attack in 1999.
