On February 15, 2019, President Trump signed a funding package that provided 1.2 billion for border security. At the same time, he declared a national emergency on the southern border. He will use executive powers granted to him by the Constitution to divert billions more toward building The Wall. “We’re going to confront the national security crisis on our southern border one way or the other.” Trump said.
"We’re talking about an invasion of our country," Trump said, while predicting a fight that will end up before the Supreme Court.
"We will have a national emergency, and we will be sued," Trump said. "We will end up in the Supreme Court, and hopefully win.
Trump plans to move $8 billion in currently appropriated funds toward construction of the wall.
