New York trip
Michael and I have our September New York trip pretty much planned. We fly into JFK on Thursday, September 24. We will have a room waiting at the Portland Square Hotel for two nights. We will see Kristina in Concert at Carnegie Hall on the first night. We will be at new Yankee Stadium for baseball between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox on Friday. We will take the tour of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York on Wall Street and may penetrate deeper into Central Park. Michael wants to return to the Statue of Liberty. We will fly to Nashville on Saturday, September 26. New York City is called the Big Apple because musicians in the 1920s and 30s referred to cities as apples. New York was the biggest apple of all and the one still known by that slang term. Gotham City is used for Batman. Washington Irving called New York City "Gotham" in 1807.
