I bought a 2003 Nissan Frontier XE pickup from Downtown Nashville Nissan, now located at Metro Center, 25 Vantage Way, August 28, 2003. Work with them. Use the maintenance schedule. Do 30,000 mile maintenances.
Use this truck constructively to help Michael and to take care of business. Hold down the miles.
I renew my registration and license plate every year. Insurance is due every 6 months. I have insurance with Geico until August 11, 2010. I enrolled in direct pay, epolicy & ebilling. Registration and proof of insurance are kept in the truck. The title is not. I got a title at the Title Division of the TN Department of Safety, Metro Center, 44 Vantage Way. I got a drivers license at Driver Control at the TN Dept. of Safety at 1601 Murfreesboro Road.
I get emissions inspections on Craighead St. out 8th Av. and plate stickers online.
Fluid levels:
1 Gas - Conserve. Make sure the gas cap clicks or the service engine soon light may come on. Click..click..click.
2 Oil - Check every 400 miles. Quaker State 30. Change oil and get a lube job every 4 or 5 thousand miles. Change oil filter every other time.

3 Transmission fluid - Change every 30,000 miles. I changed it at 135,430 at Downtown Nashville Nissan. Check it with truck running.
4 Radiator - Anti-freeze year around. 50/50 mix with water or use ROAD-TECH READY TO USE 50/50 PREDILUTED ANTI-FREEZE & COOLANT. Buy at MAPCO. I do not have to add water with it.
5 Brake fluid - Adjust brakes if they need it. I put new brakes on at 126,246 miles in October, 2009. Get brakes at Budget Brakes on Charlotte Pike, 1/4 mile east of White Bridge Road. The squealing noise was made by the squealer, a devise to let me know when a brake job is needed. Budget Brakes is best.
6 Spark plugs - Replace every 30,000 miles. Heart of the tune-up.
7 Tires - 32 pounds air pressure. Donut underneath. Inspect tires. I put 4 tires on at FIRESTONE in Brentwood @ 130,225 miles, 1/13/10. 15" tires. P225/70R15. The front end was re-aligned. Total cost: $361.60. Firestone fixes flats free.
8 Air filter
9 Battery - I put a new battery on at 134,377 miles.
10 Drive belts - I changed belts at 68,336 miles @ Hippodrome.
Take care of your truck. Help Michael with his car.
11 Air conditioner - I had freon put in at PRECISION TUNE AUTO CARE. But there was a leak. This is a good place. They do everything related to auto maintenance.

SEPTEMBER, 2009 - I registered my truck for 2010 after passing the emissions test on Craighead off 8th Av. I registered online at dcclerkonline. Click on Motor Vehicles. I gave the last 4 of VIN, title number and license plate number. I paid with my VISA card, and they mailed me the little stickers.
BRAKES
OCTOBER 21, 2009 - I put new brakes on at Midas on Charlotte Av. They cost $545.92. Michael said I got ripped off, and I probably did. They are guaranteed for the life of the truck. There is a warrenty number on the receit.
ALTERNATOR/TIRES
JANUARY 13, 2010 - I helped Michael put an alternator on the Altima at Firestone in Brentwood. It was about $485. I put 4 tires on my truck. They were about $240. They are guaranteed for 40,000 miles. I put them on at 130,225 miles, so they are guaranteed up to 170,000. Firestone will give me a free tire roation every 6,000 miles. I will get my next oil change at Firestone on Broadway and have the tires rotated. I will get transmission fluid.

May 1, 2010 - I put a new battery in my Frontier at Downtown Nashville Nissan at Metro Center.
TRANSMISSION FLUID

I had my transmission flushed and transmission fluid changed. With the oil change, the cost was $232.33. They tightened my 3 drive belts but did not charge for that. The loose belts were causing the squealing.
MARTA - EMISSIONS TEST
August 27, 2010
I passed the emmissions test (MARTA). I drove left on Wedgewood, turned right onto 8th @ Exxon. Pass Zannies and Dollar Store and turn left on Craighead off 8th.
