Nutrition is the science of food. Control food. Get on the treadmill. Lose weight by burning calories.
Proteins build muscle: meat, eggs & milk.
Carbohydrates are energy sources. They enter the blood as sugar.
Fats insulate organs.
Vitamins - The sun makes vitamin D.
Minerals - Calcium is a mineral.
I get glasses at the VA. They give eye exams. I am near sighted and have astigmatism. I have problems with my eyes caused by the dental assistant cracking that crown. The tooth was pulled, and my teeth, eyes @ and entire body has been affected. I have to stop rubbing my eyes!
Pupils are the dark spots in my eyes. They open and close to regulate light. Irises are muscles that control the pupils. Irises have color. Retinas are screens at the back of my eyeballs. Optic nerves connect retinas to the brain.
Outer ears funnel sound to the ear drums. The brain receives vibrations. Canals produce wax to clean the ears. It can harden! Dr. Richard Quisling in Nashville used a laser to remove wax from my left ear.
I have 32 teeth, 16 at the top, 16 at the bottom. 4 canines tear. 8 incisors chop. 8 premolars crush. 12 molars grind. Tooth enamel is the hardest thing in the body. Cavities are caused by a film of food and bacteria called "plaque." Plaque forms acid that erodes enamel. I must brush my teeth. Keep a clean tooth brush and a tube of tooth paste. Gargle Listerine.
I have 640 muscles. They enable my body to move. Muscles are attached to the skeleton by tendons. Massage helps circulate the blood. Massage scalp, neck, arms, legs, hands & feet!
The heart pumps blood through the body. Blood carries food and oxygen to the cells. I have 5 quarts of blood. My heart beats 75 times a minute. Heart attacks are the number one cause of death. They occur when arteries get clogged by cholesterol and fat. The VA tells me my blood pressure is perfect. Strokes are a leading cause of death. Strokes occur when blood cannot get to the brain.
When I breathe, my lungs take in oxygen and give off carbon dioxide.
My skeleton has 206 bones. They meet at the joints. Cartilage covers the ends of bones. Arthritis is a disease that breaks down cartilage.
9 CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM
My brain and spinal cord make up my central nervous system. Peripheral nerves branch out through my body. Nerves send and receive signals to and from the brain.
Reduce stress. Reduce anxiety. Fight depression. Eliminate its causes. I need to stay calm while driving. Do not get mad when people run red lights or pull out in front. Do whatever it takes to avoid an accident! Stay calm. Be careful. Go slow.
Still looking for a pillow! Got to support my head and neck. I sleep on my left side. I sleep on the mattress I brought from the other apartment. Dreams are thoughts and images during sleep. They are irrational. I had wet dreams at 14. They felt good, although I did not understand what they were and thought something was wrong with me. No one talked about sex. Dreams are disturbing.
Wear comfortable clothes. Velcro tennis shoes and ankle socks from Walmart.
Get on the treadmill. Build yourself up for Greece. I need to move my body. Do not sit at the computer for long periods. Get up and move!
Aging continues from infancy through childhood and adulthood to maturity and death. Aging is linked to changes in the cells. Cells wear out, and people die from age-related diseases. Heart attacks, strokes & infectious diseases are the chief causes of death. Life expectancy is 75 for men, 80 for women. Aging can be slowed by body maintenance. I will go into my 80s. I will stay mobile. I want good health and longevity.
Every summer, I try sitting in the sun. Then it either rains or clouds come. I will try again. I can use my chair or lie by the pool.
15 HEALTH INSURANCE
As a disabled veteran, I use the VA hospitals. I have Medicare A, which is for hospital. I reinstated Medicare B, which is for outpatient visits.
I take Synthroid for my thyroid and metformin for diabetes. I take pills for arthritis. The VA sends them. The thyroid is located at the front of the throat. Hormones from the thyroid control metabolism, the conversion of food into energy. I take vitamin C.
Neuropathy is nerve disease. Too much sugar in the blood damages nerves. Muscles get weak. Exercise takes sugar out of the blood and gets it to cells, where it is burned for energy! The brain releases endorphins, chemicals that fight neuropathy. Weight loss lowers blood sugar.
18 VA NASHVILLE
Bacteria and viruses are neither plants nor animals. They are in a different category. Germs and microbes! People can be "infected" by them. When I had a bacterial infection in my neck, the VA used antibiotics and steroids. Antibiotics kill bacteria but do not kill viruses.
19 LAST CHAPTER
The Covid-19 pandemic hit America hard. People wear masks and stay 6 feet apart when in public. There have been nearly 200,000 deaths in the United States. I go out for food and business. Theaters are closed, and sporting events have been canceled. Bars and music venues are closed.
Stop masturbating! It is part of the second mission given by the 1%. Avoid sexy images. Avoid porn. Giving up alcohol was huge. I quit drinking, August 16, 2012.
Plan ahead. Go through your stuff. Read papers and books. Clean the apartment! Tub and toilet. Play the CDs: Elvis, ABBA, CHESS, Shania, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan & Jim Colyer songs. I have 124 originals on youtube! Life is half offense, half defense. Lay low when the situation calls for it. Get with Michael! Michael and his family are the only people in this state I care about.
I pay rent and need to spend time in my apartment. Stay off the roads when there is no reason to go out. Traffic is bad. Conserve money and gas. Make the truck last.
Be smart about food. Eat eggs at the Waffle House and Cracker Barrel. Drink water instead of coffee. Eat vegetables from Kroger's salad bar. Eat at the Vanderbilt Cafeteria, Cookout & Wendy's.
Do not be affected by the seasons, the amount of daylight or darkness. Or the temperature. Follow the solstices & equinoxes. Follow the orbit of the earth around the sun. It revolves 67,000 miles an hour.
The hardest thing was dealing with the death of my parents. They had a chapter before me, and I am having one after them. It is nature, and I cannot change it. Life leaves something to be desired. Trust the real God!
Karen is gone. It happened quick, Christmas Eve, 2017. I have been given a mission in my second 40. I stay in touch with Michael, helping in whatever way I can. I must go on!
I need to apply the ideas in the Strategy. Make them my lifestyle, not just words on paper.
Masturbation must cease. It must end. Just like alcohol did. Neuropathy and arthritis make it hard to get around. My hands, fingers, feet & toes are affected. I do not have good balance. My arms are weak. Thighs also. Arthritis is in my neck. My stomach is swollen. I wonder how much of this is related to that tooth being pulled. I need to get on the treadmill every day. Exercise fights neuropathy. It takes sugar out of the blood and gets it to the cells. Excess sugar damages nerves.
I keep getting up in the night to pee. Maybe it is related to the prostrate. Diet is important. I have got to stop eating for something to do. 3 or 4 bites, and hungry generally goes away. People eat when they are not hungry.
My eyes are a problem. I have been rubbing them when crusty sleep builds up. I have to keep my fingers out of my eyes. I probably have cataracts.
